Product Introduction

Euglena gracilis is rich in essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, carotenoids, and unsaturated fatty acids.It contains a unique compound called paramylon (β-1,3-glucan), a type of Euglena-specific polysaccharide.Unlike many other microalgae, Euglena gracilis has no cell wall, allowing for exceptionally high absorption and bioavailability in the human body.

β-Glucan is a natural dietary fiber and a type of polysaccharide found in algae, grains, fungi, and yeast. Grains typically produce β-1,3/1,4-glucans, while fungi and yeast produce β-1,3/1,6-glucans. Algae, on the other hand, are known for producing β-1,3-glucans. The biological activity and immune-enhancing effects of β-glucans vary depending on their structural linkages. Among them, β-1,3-glucan exhibits higher activity and stronger immunomodulatory properties. β-1,3-glucan is non-caloric and functions as an effective dietary fiber. Paramylon is the most important bioactive compound produced by Euglena and is unique to the Euglena genus.
It is a polymer composed of linear β-1,3-glucan, and can account for 60–85% of Euglena’s dry weight.
